GOLD for Team AK!
July marked the end of a very busy year of school sport and for the first time we submitted our application to potentially be recognised with a ‘School Games Mark’. ‘School Games’ offer a Bronze, Silver or Gold award for a schools commitment, engagement and delivery of competitive school sport. We received a GOLD and it is our target to receive gold for the next four years which will enable us to apply for the prestigious platinum award. Thank you to everybody who helped with transport across the year as without you our pupils would not be able to access the incredible opportunities that we enjoy each year.
Mr Tanner
We have some very exciting plans in store for sports at AKPS including a very special visitor to inspire our pupils and some gymnastic training for Mr Tanner to develop this further within school! In addition once we have completed fundraising with FOAKS, alongside the brilliant legacy the previous FOAKS team have already raised, we look forward to creating an all-weather area/ pitch for children to continue with sports at break and lunchtimes and in lessons. Thank you to our wonderful and unique Mr Tanner, thank you to parents and carers for their excellent support at sporting events and with fundraising for the new Smooga (Sports area) and to our wonderful children who represent TEAM AK so proudly.
